Pairs Elimination Tournament:

The advice was that we needed a competitive environment with both a reward and consequence.
Get ready for our new Pairs Elimination Tournament.

Entries to this tournament are open to everyone, however your division allocation will be determined internally and a not related to your VARS points, but that does mean no points will be awarded.

If you are part of the CBR training group this series is a part of your promotion or relegation pathway.

How does it work?

Each division is limited to a maximum of 8 teams.

The teams will be split into 2 pools of 4 teams. The pool play phase will be single set games with every point counting towards the ladder.

1st of Pool A will verse 4th from Pool B, 2nd from A against 3rd from Pool B etc. in Quarter Finals.

Quarter Finals > Semi Finals > Final.

All Matches from Quarter Finals onwards will be full best of 3 set games, no time limit.

I'm not part of the training group. Can I take part?

You absolutely can and we would love to have you. Honestly the training group play against each other often enough at training and ACT Beach Series, and we know they would love someone else to play against.

This tournament is different in that you do not require any national ranking points to get into Division 1, although it is still graded.

The same principle works in reverse, if you are a regular on tour and have points, but you want to play with a friend, nominate into Division 2. We're aiming to make sure everyone has the best possible games regardless of your ranking points.

I am part of the training group. Where does this fit into my schedule?

Yes, you are expected to play these whenever you are available.

Yes, you will be playing with someone in your training group.

Yes, winning this tournament is one of the steps required to challenge a team in the performance tier.
