King | Queen of the Court
Over the 2026/2027 season we are aiming to bring you 10 beach volleyball events, because why shouldn't we be on the sand every weekend!
King | Queen of the Court is one of the new formats we are testing and is the first event in the calendar scheduled for 19 September 2026 starting at 10am.
Round 2 will take place on 20 February 2027, for anyone not away at Coota Beach that weekend.
What is it?
A number of you will have played some version of King | Queen of the Court at training. If you win the rally on the Challenger side of the court, you get to progress to the King | Queen side of the court, and you can stay there for as long as you can continuously side out, scoring a point every time you win on the King | Queen side. When you lose a point, you join the line to become a challenger again. Different rounds have different incentives, if you win you may be able to skip around and get closer to the finals, if you lose you may be eliminated, or sent to the repechage.
Can you survive through to the final? Who will be the crowned Kings & Queens of the Court this summer?
